The West Elementary Student Council was established during the 1998-99
school year for students in grades 3-5.  It consists of two student
council representatives from each class, elected by the students. 
There is also a president and a vice president.  Student council
representatives are expected to be well-behaved, have good grades, and
have good attendance at school and at student council functions.
    Each year the student council raises money by selling candy bars and
hosting the annual Fall Festival.  The money raised is used to
purchase items for the school/students and to aid in service projects
throughout the community. The student council enjoys visiting the
local nursing homes.
