C.A.P.
Citizenship Achievement Program

C.A.P. is an elite program originated to encourage and help build good school citizens.  All students in grades 3-5 are eligible to take part in this program.  The program is run on a quarterly basis.  Every student that meets the criteria during any quarter is rewarded with a special activity at the end of that quarter.  The first time that any student meets the criteria for all four (4) quarters in a given school year, he/she is awarded a special C.A.P. cap.  For each year the student repeats his/her four (4) quarter qualification, he/she is given a special award (pin or patch) to put on their cap.  Each student will receive only one (1) cap while at West Elementary.  If a cap is lost or stolen, parents may order and purchase another at their own expense.

The criteria for C.A.P. are as follows:

  • No quarterly conduct grade lower than A-
  • No noon or after school detentions (this does not include tutoring)
  • No incomplete, late ot missing assignments (make-up work must adhere to campus policy)
  • No excessive absenteeism/tardiness (no more than 2 unexcused absences/tardies per quarter)
It is an honor to be part of this organization and we urge all students and their parents to make this a goal for the school year.  Good school citizens make good members of society, both now and later in life.
