Spyware Guide

Many of the programs that are NOT APPROVED are programs which are considered spyware. Spyware programs are used as a backdoor for some companies to get information from you. That can account for an influx of spam email also. Another thing spyware does is that it pings out to the outside world. A ping is a protocol that sends a message to another computer and waits for acknowledgment, often used to check if another computer on a network is reachable.

The following programs are not approved and should not be downloaded onto district computers. These programs should be removed from your computer if they are on them.
