The Central High School Counseling Department has received the following scholarship information. This information will be updated as new scholarships are made available. Please check this link weekly for those updates.
Mineral Area College Scholarship Application is available in the counseling office. Everyone should apply for these MAC scholarships. Many go untaken because students don’t take the time to apply. The deadline to turn this application into your counselor is January 31, 2010.
The American Legion Need a Lift Program is now available on-line at www.legion.org/needalift. Scholarship and financial aid information is available at your fingertips.
Quest for Education Scholarship Program: Apply online at www.vcu.com. Deadline is December 4, 2009.
Belcher Scholarship Program: The local school board will select their applicant based on academic achievement, leadership abilities and the quality of a written essay on: How can public education be improved through research, resources and responsibility? Must submit your essay to your counselor by December 11, 2009.
The Conservation Foundation of Missouri Scholarships ($1000 X 5) is due December 31, 2009. Visit http://www.swcs.missouri.edu/scholarship.htm.
Missouri Jaycees Senate Scholarship Application: Learn more at www.mojcisenate.org/forms.html. The deadline date is January 4, 2010.
Washington Crossing Foundation National Scholarships are available for seniors ($1000 to $7500). Apply online at gwcf.org. Deadline is January 15, 2010.
$500 LEAP Scholarship is available online at www.leap-forward.com. The deadline is January 31, 2010.
Burger King Scholars Program: To learn about the program visit the Foundation’s website at http://www.haveityourwayfoundation.org/. Application must be postmarked no later than February 1, 2010.
KFC Colonel’s Scholars Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board. The online application will be available through February 10, 2010 at www.kfcscholars.org. For questions visit the website or call toll-free at 1-866-KFC-7240.
Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley/MUSIC Scholarship is available online at www.musicprogram.org. An application may also be picked up in the counseling office. Due date is February 19, 2010.
James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program is available online at sms.scholarshipamerica.org/westlake. If you have any questions regarding this program, please call (507)931-1682 and ask for the James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program. Application postmark deadline date is February 28, 2010.
The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship is available in the counseling office. You must have an ACT score in the top ten percent of the national percentile and plan to attend a four-year institution to be eligible. This is a simple application to complete. Must submit completed application before April 15, 2010.
Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors 2010 Memorial Scholarship Award is available online at www.maboi.com. Applicant must be majoring in code technology, engineering, architecture, architecture and fire science.
Dell Scholars Program is available online at www.dellscholars.org/apply. The deadline is January 15th by 11:59 p.m. Central time.
St. Francois Rotary Club Scholarshipis available online at www.sfcrotary.org. Download the scholarship application off the right side bar and turn the completed application into your counselor before March 31, 2009. This scholarship is worth $4,000.
Black Student Union Black and White Ball Scholarship in cooperation with "Nelly" is available in the counseling office. The scholarship is open to all incoming first-year students who mee Lindenwood University requirements for admission and demonstrate academic success, leadership and financial need.
Glennon J. Walsh Memorial Scholarship is available in the counseling office. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a patient who is required to work at least part-time during the academic session 2010-2011 while attending an institute of continuing education. Applications must be received in his office by 3:00 p.m. on May 30, 2010. Applications are available in the counseling office.
MFA Agri Services Scholarship in the amount of $2000 is available in the counseling office. The deadline to turn in the application to your counselor is February 26th. You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are receiving an A+ Scholarship.
Mid-East Missouri Contractors Association is awarding a scholarship in the amount of $1,500 for a university or $500 for a junior college to a student who is pursuing a degree in construction related field. The scholarship application is available in the counseling office. The deadline to complete the application is April 1, 2010.
Heartland Agricultural Scholarship is available in the counseling office. An award of $2,000 will be given to an applicant pursuing a degree in an agricultural related field. The deadline to complete the application is February 10, 2010.
Alpha Gamma Sigma Scholarship is available in the counseling office. If you are a male and planning to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia you are eligible to apply. Stop by the office and complete the application. The application deadline is June 1, 2010.
Missouri Association Mutual Insurance Companies is awarding a $500 scholarship to a high school senior. The Board of Directors of the Farm Mutual Insurance of St. Francois County is also awarding a $500 scholarship, therefore, a senior has two chances and the possibility of winning $1,000. Stop by the counselors' office to complete the application to be eligible for both scholarships. The deadline is March 1, 2010.
