PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

• PD-1. Actively serve on the Career Ladder Development and/or the Career Ladder Review Committee.

• PD-2. Actively serve on the Professional Development Committee.

• PD-4. Attend workshops in the areas of teaching improvement, innovations, technology or other areas as are applicable to your position in the district.

PD-7. Actively serve on CTA or other district committees that are directly related to student involvement or professional development.

Building Level Goals

Please find below the revised list of building goals for your use in preparing your career ladder plan. Goals are listed in order of priority by building principals. If you have any questions, please consult your building principal. Please note that any item not listed (other) must be explained in detail on Form C.

CENTRAL ELEMENTARY

• CE-1. Before and after school tutorial(s).

• CE-2. Send home weekly and/or monthly class newsletter regarding subject/course outcomes, assessments, performance expectations, and/or curriculum related units.

• CE-3. Develop motivational bulletin boards to improve reading and parent involvement.

• CE-4. Develop learning centers to coincide with "Ready To Read" grant. • CE-5. Develop curriculum-related parents' activity nights.

• CE-6. Develop written lessons for computer assisted instruction. This should include use of smart boards and Internet.

• CE-7. Develop a grade level assessment (regular and performance) binder/folder to provide consistency among teachers when assessing students for mastery of objectives.

• CE-8. Develop modified assignments.

WEST ELEMENTARY

• WE-1. Develop tests at each level using the same format as the MAP.

WE-2. Revise the curriculum to focus on performance assessments for individual lessons.

with "Ready to Read" Grant

• WE-4. Provide academic competitions for our students. (Le. Spelling Bee,
Science Fair, Math Contest, etc.)
WE-5. Provide before and after school tutoring for all students.
WE-6. Recognize student achievement by providing our students with rewards for meeting and/or exceeding established criteria. (Le. CAP, Honor Roll, etc.)

WE-7. Provide clubs and organizations for our students outside the regular school day. (i.e. Math Club, Writing Club, Student Council, West Tech Ambassadors, Special Choir, etc.)

MS-8. Open and maintain library before/after school for student assistance with book checkout, incomplete work, research, etc.

HIGH SCHOOL

HS-1. Develop practice MAP Test to be used prior to actual MAP.
HS,2. Develop and distribute a monthly newsletter for CHS WEB PAGE.

HS-3. Create and maintain a monthly display in hallway display case honoring Academic Achievements/Honom
HS4. Provide academic activities/com petitions. (i.e. Science/Math Fair, etc.)

HS-5. Tutor students tested at step one.
HS-6. Work with students (specifically) in Reading. (i.e. Reading in Content
Areas)
HS-7. Offer zero hour, eighth hour, or Saturday classes for students who need
