

Curriculum Goals
| 1. All district's curriculum be aligned to the Missouri Show-Me Standards.
2. All curriculum writing include authentic assessments for all curricula areas K-12. 3. More implementation of career awareness added to the curriculum K-12. 4. A continual implementation of technology added to the curriculum and classrooms K-12. 5. Encourage staff to develop scoring guides to improve assessment performance. 6. Complete curriculum articulation through grade levels and subject areas to ensure continuity of learning. 7. Include in the written curriculum guides a scope and sequence to
help meet the needs of 8. Develop competencies for all classes being taught at the high school
that will be tracked 9. Implement a tracking system that will track student mastery. 10. Encourage teachers to participate in the pilot/volunteer test assessments being offered by the state. 11. Ensure that a systematic procedure is in place to evaluate and
revise the curriculum regularly based on student needs and indicators
of student mastery. The district strongly recommends and encourages teachers to write grants as a means to improve on the'district's goals. Each building level principal should have Incentive for School Excellence Grant Applications in their office. CENTRAL ELEMENTARY 1. Send home weekly and or rnonthly class newsletter re: subject/course outcomes, assessments, and performance expectations, 2. Develop course syllabi 3. Develop course description booklets 4. Update student handbooks to include grade level course descriptions. 5. Conduct orientation for new 3rd graders. 6. Using our curriculum mapping, develop unit overviews to be sent home. 7. Grade level videos of teachers and course descriptions and objectives, assessments, and performance expectations. 8. One-to-one instruction before/ after school hours. 9. Develop a written guide for peer tutoring. 10. Develop a written guide for computer-assisted instruction. 11. Develop modified assignments. 12. Develop modified assessments. 13. Develop a grade level assessment binder/folder (regular and performance assessments) to provide consistency among teachers when assessing students for mastery of objectives. 14. HIGH SCHOOL 35. The offering of core subjects for a-edit for students who need to make-up credits for graduation. (This will require a minimum of ninety hours per semester, not including preparation time). I would like to offer a class in each of the four core subjects to be conducted during zero hour or eighth period. 36. Academic competition. 37. The development of a sample MAP test. |
